Discipline by Review – Less serious charges as per the OSA Discipline Policies, section 9.0. Registrant is found either guilty or not guilty and there is NO APPEAL once the panel makes decision . 

Discipline by Hearing – More serious charges as per the OSA Discipline Policies, section 9.0.  The player charged is requested to attend a hearing before a panel of three S.R.S.A Discipline Committee members.  A hearing date will be set within the time limits under the process required by the OSA.  The panel will render a decision resulting in either guilty or not guilty.  Guilty could result in ban from ALL soccer related activity.


Any one, player, team or league and officials who have been notified to attend a discipline hearing must appear on the determined time and date.  Any individual, who fails to attend the discipline hearing, will automatically be suspended from all S.R.S.A and O.S.A activities until they comply by attending a duly convened discipline hearing.  The Discipline Committee will also inform the suspended person, and League, as applicable.  Activities will include, but not be limited to, games and practices.  In the case of a discipline hearing for a player under age, the player's coach (es) and parent(s) / guardian(s) must also attend the hearing.

Request for postponement

8.2.1 Any party required to attend a hearing may request one (1) postponement of a hearing.  The party must submit a written request which must be received by the Governing Organization no later than four days prior to the date of that hearing, stating the reason for requesting the postponement.  All such requests must be accompanied by the correct fee in the form of a recorded payment.  Should the request be denied, the fee shall be refunded.  The Governing Organization shall have full discretion to refund the “Request for postponement fee” if sufficient reason warrants such action.

The fee for a request for postponement is $75.00.

The Sudbury Regional Soccer association will only deal with discipline complaints filed in writing and signed. 

Appeal Process – For discipline cases which fall under the Discipline by Review policy of the Ontario Soccer Association, the accused has the right to request that his/her case be dealt with under the Discipline by Hearing system should they believe the dismissal was unwarranted. This request for a hearing must be received within 72 hours of receiving the dismissal and must be accompanied by the request for hearing fee of $60.00.

Note: you cannot appeal three yellow cards that resulted in a red card, during the season, or the two yellows in one game.

Special Incident – Reports filed as a result of incidents that take place on or off the field that are outside of the standard ‘laws of the game’ guidelines. Incidents include: verbal abuse by team officials, spectator behaviour, weather issues etc.

Special Note:

Any team official who for whatever reason during a game pulls his/her team off the field will be subject to disciplinary action depending on the Discipline Committee findings.

Sudbury Regional Soccer reserves the right to demand the appearance of any its members for any further or new disciplinary action.
